HealthSouth Fort Worth to Host Open House for REAL Therapy
HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital of Fort Worth will hold a REAL Therapy Open House on Wednesday, Feb. 15 from 4:30- 7:30 p.m. to allow members of the community to experience the hospital’s newest therapy component and learn how it can benefit patients that are being served in the physical inpatient rehabilitation hospital for a variety of major illnesses and injuries including stroke, brain injury, spinal cord injury and complex orthopedic conditions.
The REAL Therapy program provides patients with realistic environment applied learning and allows patients to practice real-life scenarios through community-based activities such as going to the grocery store, eating at a restaurant, visiting a self-serve deli and pumping gas at a gas station among others. Therapy stations are equipped to mimic the types of scenarios patients will encounter in the community, giving them the chance to safely practice and work toward their physical rehabilitation goals.
“This program sets HealthSouth Fort Worth apart by providing an environment where patients and the HealthSouth therapy team can safely practice and work toward each patient’s goals for daily living,” said HealthSouth Fort Worth Director of Therapy Operations Natasha Woolery, PT. “The interactive modules show patients how the exercises in their therapy will benefit their upon their return to their communities providing an enjoyable and rewarding experience.”
The event, held at the hospital located at 1212 West Lancaster in Fort Worth, will feature refreshments, music and prizes and is provided at no cost. To RSVP for the event or acquire more information, please call 817-370-4760.
